Papers primarily relating to the life and career of Joseph Buckner Killebrew. Includes his autobiography, containing much Tennessee history, especially on the Civil War period; his writings, published and unpublished, on subjects such as agriculture, education, immigration, mineral resources, the Tennessee Centennial Exposition, tobacco, the Episcopal Church, and railroads; the memoir of his wife, Mary Katherine Wimberley Killebrew, which includes genealogical data on the Trigg, Killebrew, Wimberley, Bourne, Digg, Whitfield, and Hampton families and information on social life and customs in post-Civil War Tennessee; a small volume on the construction of waterwheels by William Trigg, an ancestor of Mrs. Killebrew, written in 1797; scrapbooks on Killebrew's work and activities and some of his newspaper articles; business and personal correspondence; and collected writings of others on subjects of interest to Mr. Killebrew.
